High-tech cities are a visible sign of modernity in a country. The most famous one in India is Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy City (HITEC City). It was inaugurated in 2010.
This large technology township is spread across 61 ha (151 acres). Companies such as Facebook or Microsoft have their headquarters there and also campuses. In this "city", a lot of construction work is still going on: shopping complexes, hotels....
