MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!

Waiting for Christmas rhymes with waiting for new Christmas ads. Since 2007, the famous British retailer John Lewis has been used to offering a traditional Christmas advert to the United Kingdom.

This year the ad was released on November 13th which happens to be World Kindness Day. The advert celebrates all forms of kindness though randon acts over the festive season. 8 artists have worked on this project which uses stop motion animation as well as real life footage. So relax and see how a group of pigeons welcomes a poor hedgehog as one of their own. Moreover, it is a perfect ad for this Christmas as it never refers to the pandemic !

The song is entitled Little Love and is performed by Celeste.

Last year, the story was that of Ava's preparing for Christmas with her best friend, Edgar, a lovely dragon. Unfortunately, Edgar was unable to contain his excitement for the festivities and fired everything whenever he was happy. As a consequence, the entire village was angry at Edgar so he decided to shut himself away. Ava found the perfect Christams present for her friend....A Christmas pudding that Edgar would set on fire:

In 2018, the ad was entitled The Boy and the Piano and it told the true story of a Christmas gift, working backwards from present times to the past. Icing on the cake, the story was the famous pop icon Elton John's !

He recently shared his opinion about this ad: " It has so many warm memories for me and my family. It's been a lovely opportunity for me to reflect on my life in music and the incredible journey I have seen on, and how first playing my grandmother's piano marked the moment when the music came into my life. The ad is absolutely fantastic and I've truly loved every minute of being part of it".

In 2015, it was about Lily who found ds a man on the moon by looking thru a telescope but she was disappointed he couldn't see her. With a lot of hope and determination, she managed to send the old man a message for him to know that someone on earth was thinking of him.

The song that goes along with the video is entitled Half the World Away. It is performed by Aurora, from the original song by Oasis.

The year before, it told the story and a young boy and his best penguin friend Monty. The song that went along with the ad was entitled Real Love and sung by Tom Odell. The original song was from the Beatles.

The ads aim at promoting the company and it is also a means for people to (re)discover great songs; which are usually ranked in the highest positions in the charts.
