PRIDE
Pride is a British movie released in 2014. It was written by Stephen Beresford and directed by Matthew Warchus.
The movie is based on a true strory and takes place during the UK miner's strike in 1984. It explains how a group of lesbian and gay activists managed to raise money in order to help their families who suffered from the strike. They wanted to help the National Union of Mineworkers. The members of the NUM were reluctant to accept the group's support because they didn't want to be associated with a gay group. As a consequence, the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners Campaign gave money to a mining village in Wales.
